Behave at the Buffet

"Behave at the Buffet"

Office parties, cookie exchanges, neighborhood pot lucks and family festivities abound this time of year, and several of them revolve around the buffet table. Many of us gain unwanted pounds that grow increasingly more difficult to lose. Implement a game plan this holiday season with these tips:

• Don’t arrive hungry. Eat before you go, including high-protein foods that make you feel full like Full Circle Omega-3 eggs, a fiber-filled bowl of Full Circle Raisin Bran cereal or large salad, with a low-fat dressing like Full Circle Balsamic Vinaigrette.

• Choose to fill a salad plate, not a dinner-sized plate, at the buffet table.

• Whenever possible, fill your plate with low-calorie foods, but indulge yourself occasionally so you don’t feel deprived.

• Move your conversations away from the buffet table to avoid temptation.

• Eat slowly, and take a break before replenishing your plate. It takes the mind and body about 20 minutes to communicate fullness.

• Sip on water or club soda with lime. Drinking water not only helps your stomach feel full, but it also keeps your hands busy so you’re not reaching for finger foods.

• Limit alcoholic beverages which are oftentimes high in calories and may promote hunger.

• When asked to bring a dish, choose a healthy recipe. For delicious recipes using all of your Full Circle favorite products, visit our recipe page at http://www.fullcirclefoods.com/Recipes/Meals.aspx
